Government departments

  • Cabinet Office: Committee on Standards in Public Life – Lord Stunell appointed as a member.
  • Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: Environment Agency – Richard Macdonald appointed as Deputy Chair, previously in the role on an interim basis.
  • Department for Culture, Media and Sport: Royal Parks - Ruth Anderson, Heather Blackman, Wesley Kerr and Charles Martin appointed to the Board.
  • Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy: Coal Authority – Steven Wilson appointed as a non-executive board member for three years; Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service – Brendan Barber reappointed as Chair.

House of Lords

  • Procedure Committee – Lord Fowler replaced Baroness D’Souza as member.

  • Caroline Johnson elected as the new Conservative MP for Sleaford and North Hykeham.
  • Defence Committee – Gavin Robinson replaced Jim Shannon as a member.
  • Northern Ireland Affairs Committee – Greg Campbell and Jim Shannon replaced Ian Paisley and Gavin Robinson as members.
  • Women and Equalities Committee – Tracy Brabin replaced Gill Furniss as a member.

  • Jonathan Arnott – Constitutional Affairs.

  • Órlaithí Flynn was co-opted to become a Sinn Féin MLA for Belfast West, replacing Jennifer McCann.
  • Business Committee – Steven Agnew appointed as member.

Local Authorities

  • Manchester Council – Joanne Roney to become the new Chief Executive, replacing Howard Bernstein in the spring.

  • Angus Council – David Cheape elected for Carnoustie & District – Independent gain from SNP.

  • Lancaster Council – Nathan Burns elected for University & Scotforth Rural – Labour hold.
  • Newcastle under Lyme Council – Gary White elected for Madeley – Independent gain from Labour.
  • Telford & Wrekin Council – Rajash Mehta elected for Horsehay & Lightmoor – Labour gain from Conservative.
  • Tonbridge & Malling Council – Georgina Thomas elected for Trench – Conservative hold.

Industry, think tanks and unions

  • Fabian Society – Kate Green named as the new Chair, replacing Seema Malhotra.
  • National Council of YMCAs - Martin Houghton-Brown has been elected as the new Chair.
  • Epilepsy Society - Clare Pelham appointed as Chief Executive.
  • Unite union – Len McCluskey resigned as General Secretary, causing the election for the position to take place in March 2017, he is to stand as a candidate.
  • FDA union - Dave Penman re-elected as General Secretary.
