Jean-Christophe Gray, head of general expenditure at HM Treasury, is replacing Steve Field as the prime minister’s official spokesman. He will start in the position after the chancellor’s Autumn Statement on 5 December. Field has left for the International Monetary Fund.
Anne Sharpe will take the position of chief executive of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas) in January, when the incumbent John Taylor retires. Sharpe has been chief executive of the Judicial Office since 2009.
The Department for Communities and Local Government has recruited three non-executives to the board of the Homes and Communities Agency, after an open competition. Richard Hyde, Anthony Preiskel and Ruth Thompson started on 1 Novem
