Minouche Shafik, formerly permanent secretary at the Department for International Development, has been appointed deputy governor at the Bank of England. Shafik joined DfID in 2004, and left in 2011 to become deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund.
Mark Boyle has been appointed as the chair of the Pensions Regulator. He will take up the post on 1 April, replacing Michael O’Higgins.
