A potential salary of more than £85,000 is on offer for a senior data leader to join the Home Office and “ensure the best evidence and analysis are used to address the strategic issues facing the department”.
The position of head of data strategy and transformation sits within the Science, Technology, Research and Analysis Group, which the job advert says “sits at the heart of the Home Office”.
Prospective candidates are advised that “this is a large and complex leadership role”, which comes with a remit “to lead implementation of the Home Office data and analytics strategy”.
Developing this strategy will need “an astute connection between data, technology and business outcomes including a broad awareness of the political and cross-government data agenda”.
The plan is liable to include “future investments for a potential fiscal event, [and] maintain the health of the portfolio and communication activities to raise the profile of new products and services”.
Other duties of the post will include work to deliver “culture change on data capability, promoting stakeholder engagement and communication activities to increase awareness and understanding of the data and information vision and portfolio delivery [and] benefits”.
The successful candidate will directly oversee the work of two policy managers and will be tasked with “presenting to ministers, senior stakeholder boards, and senior officials”.
The role can be based in either London or Manchester and offers an annual pay packet of between £73,900 and £85,690, depending on experience and location. Applications are open until 11.55pm on 10 March.
