New appointments in the civil service, UK politics, and public affairs, via our colleagues at Dods People
Government departments
- Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport: National Heritage Memorial Fund and The National Lottery Heritage Fund - Claire Feehily, David Stocker and Maria Adebowale-Schwarte reappointed as trustees; The Royal Parks - Viscountess Dunluce and Jane Hurst appointed as board members.
- Department for Transport: HS2 Ltd – Tom Harris appointed as a non-executive director.
- Cabinet Office: Alexander Evans appointed as strategy director; Ian Watmore to stand down as first civil service commissioner in October.
- Department for Health and Social Care: NHS Improvement – Baroness Harding to stand down as Chair in October.
Devolved authorities
- Northern Ireland Government: NI Screen – Rotha Johnston’s term as Chair extended until the end of the year.
Local Authorities
- Flintshire County Council: Neal Cockerton appointed as the new chief executive from 1st November, replacing Colin Everett.
- West Berkshire Council: Nigel Lynn to become chief executive in the autumn, replacing Nick Carter. Susan Halliwell will fill the role on an interim basis until then.
