  • Laura Paton has been appointed the new HM Chief Inspector of Prosecution in Scotland, replacing Michelle McLeod.

Local Authorities

  • Wakefield Council: Denise Jeffrey replaced Peter Box as leader of the council on 1 December.
  • Torridge District Council: Anna Dart stood down as leader of the council.
  • Sheffield City Council: Charlie Adan recommended as the interim chief executive.
  • By-election Result 5 December: Rhondda Cynon Taf Council - Julie Edwards elected for Ynyshir - Labour gain (caused by the resignation of Plaid Cymru councillor Darren Macey).
