New appointments in the civil service, UK politics, and public affairs, via Dods People
UK government
- Department for Business and Trade: Competition Appeal Tribunal – Andrew Taylor, Antony Woodgate, Hugh Kelly, Ioannis Kokkoris, Ioannis Lianos, Keith Derbyshire and Lesley Farrell appointed to the panel of ordinary members from 10 January.
- Department for Culture, Media and Sport: Anti-Doping Agency – Ama Agbeze and Nicola Shannon appointed as board members for four years. British Film Institute – Jay Hunt appointed as chair for four years from 16 February.
- Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs – Dr Margaret Bates appointed as head for the UK Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) for Packaging Scheme Administrator for two years from 2025. Animal Welfare Committee – Dr Romain Pizzi, Dr Pen Rashbass, Professor Sarah Wolfensohn and Dr James Yeates re-appointed as members for four years from 1 January. DEFRA board – Chris Tyas appointed as non-executive board member for three years.
- Department for Transport: Cranston Inquiry – Sir Ross Cranston appointed as chair.
- HM Treasury: Prudential Regulation Committee – John Taylor reappointed as a member for three years from 14 January 2024. Antony Jenkins reappointed as a member for three years from 5 April 2024. Tanya Castell reappointed as a member for three years from 1 September 2024.
- Department for Work and Pensions: Pensions Ombudsman – Anthony Arter appointed as interim chair.

- Government Economic Service – Sam Beckett appointed as sole head of the Government Economic Service.
- The Charity Commission – Will Lifford reappointed for three years from 18 January.
