Lord David Currie, chairman designate of the CMA, said: “The combined organisation will be able to deploy resources more effectively and flexibly to the different parts of its work. It will deliver decisions in a more timely way with no diminution of quality”.
Currie was appointed chair in July and tasked with managing the merger; establishing a strategic vision and structure for the organisation; and selecting the CMA’s chief executive and board, following a recruitment process.
