Civil servants knighted

Jonathan Stephens, permanent secretary at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, who’s due to leave the department at the end of July, was awarded a Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath for public service in the Queen’s birthday honours list earlier this month.

Meanwhile Andrew Dilnot, chairman of the UK Statistics Authority, has been knighted for services to economics and economic policy; and Professor Nigel Shadbolt, chair of the Open Data Institute, was awarded a knighthood for services to science and engineering.
