The committee says in its report, published yesterday, that “it should not be left to each department to decide whether and how to engage with interested parties and the public”, and argues that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is “best placed to co-ordinate” the strategy.
The report describes TTIP as the “most ambitious trade and investment pact ever attempted”, and notes that the UK government plays a “pivotal role in spurring on other leaders and decision-makers”.
