Welcome to the new Civil Service World website

It’s a fresh look and an improved way to provide you with all the information you need.

Hello, you may have noticed that there’s a new look to your Civil Service World website today. We’ve worked since the start of the year to redesign and rethink CSW’s online presence, and we’re excited to finally share the results with you.

We wanted to do two things with this redesign: modernise the look and feel of the site and ensure our content can better serve our readers – both those of you working in the civil service and those of you with an interest in the development and the delivery of government policies that affect us all.

So you’ll find more room on the homepage to view our top stories, and more links and related content to help you make sense of what is an unprecedented time in government. We’ve had to pause our print publication during the coronavirus outbreak, but the new design closely mirrors that of the CSW monthly title, so we’ll continue to provide in-depth interviews and features alongside a daily diet of all the news you need in policy and politics. The new site is also much better optimised for mobile, so that as people begin to leave their house again as lockdown lifts, CSW can come with you.

You’ll see that we’ve refreshed the site structure too. Alongside news, opinion and features, we’ve decided to group all of our articles to match the civil service’s professions, so that they can help provide you with the information that you need for your job – and explain how the civil service works to people outside.

The government’s Covid-19 response has shown once again the skill and dedication of civil servants to respond to a crisis to keep the country safe. Our new site will help to tell the numerous stories of how that was done and help prepare readers for future challenges too.

Perhaps inevitably, there will be some teething problems. All the content you liked on CSW before is here, but if you can’t find something please let us know and we will help you locate it. And please provide us with any feedback about the new site – we want to know what you think and any other features you might like to see.

Finally, and from all of us on the CSW editorial team: thanks for reading.
