Government departments

  • Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Vijay Rangarajan CMG has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil.
  • Ministry of Justice: HM Courts & Tribunals Service – Kevin Sadler named as the Deputy Chief Executive.
  • Department for International Trade: Richard Price appointed chief economist.

House of Commons

  • Northern Ireland Affairs Committee – Bob Stewart replaced Oliver Colvile as a member.
  • Procedure Committee - Christopher Chope, James Duddridge and Huw Merriman replaced Edward Argar, Simon Hoare and Alan Mak as members.
  • Welsh Affairs Committee – Paul Flynn replaced Gerald Jones as a member.

House of Lords

  • Lord Henley appointed as a Lord in Waiting (Government Whip).
  • Joint Committee on Human Rights - Lord Henley is no longer a member.
  • It was announced on 25 November that Lord Taylor of Blackburn had died.

Northern Ireland Assembly

  • Jennifer McCann (Sinn Fein, West Belfast) is to stand down as an MLA before Christmas.
  • Parades Commission for Northern Ireland - Anne Henderson, Sarah Havlin, Paul Hutchinson, Colin Kennedy and Geraldine McGahey reappointed as members. 

Local Authorities

  • Gateshead Council – Sheena Ramsey appointed as Chief Executive from February.
  • South Bucks District Council and Chiltern District Council – Acting Chief Executive Bob Smith has been given the role on a permanent basis.
  • Kirklees Council – Jacqui Gedman to take over from Adrian Lythgo as Chief Executive for a year from February.

  • Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council – Kerri Carruthers elected for Tadley South – Conservative hold.
  • Carlisle City Council – Stephen Sidgwick elected for Castle – Labour hold.
  • Eastbourne Borough Council – Paul Metcalfe elected for Sovereign – Conservative hold.
  • Mansfield District Council – Andrew Burgin elected for Warsop Carrs – Labour hold.
  • Newcastle upon Tyne Council – Oskar Avery elected for Blakelaw – Labour hold.
  • Pendle Borough Council – Pauline McCormick elected for Reedley – Conservative gain from Labour.
  • South Somerset District Council – Gerard Tucker elected for Turn Hill – Conservative hold.
  • Tandridge District Council – Dorinda Cooper elected for Valley – Liberal Democrat hold.
